Pain

I am 24 wks prego, 6 yrs out from RNY.. I started this evening having HORRIBLE upper abdominal pain about where my pouch is.. It's very sharp and stabbing sort of pain.. I'm not constipated nor do I think I'm gassy.. Is this just everything pushing up and putting pressure on stuff? I am already in the hospital on bedrest so it's easy to tell them but just wanted to get an idea if anyone has had this before..

Have they checked your gallbladder?  When I was having gallbladder attacks - pre-WLS, but right after the birth of my son - my pain initially felt centered around my diaphram (about where your pouch would be?) and I thought that was the problem until I touched my right side under my ribs.  From what I've read w/other women w/gb problems, the pain can radiate around your body.  I'd suggest having them check it...it can usually be done w/a simple u/s.

I agree with Holly... sounds like Gallbladder I just had mine out 3 weeks ago when I was 31 weeks pregnant...

It feels like gallbladder pain but I had that removed in 2006.. all I have left is appendix.. Doc thinks I have alot of scar tissue from my RNY and then bowel resection and as uterus grows it's pushing on tissues.. If this is gas pain it's the worst darn gas EVER.. Hopefully it'll resolve..
