hello...i just found out i'm expecting last week. i am nervous because this is my 1st pregnancy post op. it took us by surprise we were wanting more children just was trying to wait until 12-18 month post op. i'm worried because i don't really have any morning sickness the only thing that tells me i'm pregant is my sore boobs and missed period plus my positive preganancy test lol...i was wondering did you guys feel different being pregant post op than pre op for thoses of you who have had children post op? i love love to hear feed back to just ease my mind..thanks and god bless!
Not pg yet (wtg 5 more days to find out if I'm pg.) However I wanted to say Congrats and welcome! Add a prenatal vite and folic to your vitamin regimin. Call your bari surgeon and let them know you're pg. And make an appt w/ur OB. If you don't have one, ask ur bari surgeon for a recommendation for an OB who's familiar with WLS.
Good luck and cheers to a happy and healthy pg

I've had two pregnancies, one pre-op and one post-op. My first I had morning sickness on an off all day from before I missed a period until around 12 weeks. 2nd pregnancy, I was only a little bit sick for about 1-2 weeks around 8-9 weeks along. It was definately different. But everything was fine, of course I freaked out about not feeling "pregnant" either though.
Before WLS I had 2 other pregnancys. They were smoooooooth sailing. This on.... I was really sic****il I was 16 weeks. Thankful for this board, the ladies have been really encouraging. Alot pf women told me that WLS pregnancy was smooth sailing for them. Everyone is different. I can say after WLS i have felt the baby move since 10 weeks. We have seem the baby move since 18 weeks. I can say I feel blessed that the baby is growing healthy, active and on track. I have constantly lost weight since being pregnant. I have a growth scan every month.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I am 12 weeks along and sometimes I don't feel pregnant, but the majority of the time I am either nauseated or have no appetite. If you don't get that then consider your self lucky!!! This is my 1st child period so I don't know what to expect, but we can chat along the way and make it through it together!!
Congrats! I am 15 mos post op RNY and found out recently that I am pregnant as well. I've been worried that it was all a joke on me for a while now because I really don't get sick unless I'm out in extreme heat (we're in the triple digits right now). Unfortunately that's how it is for me every year though, I get heat sickness in the summer. I finally had my first ultrasound this week and we thought I was 6 weeks along but found out I'm 8. I saw it on the screen. That's the only thing that has made it real for me. Well, that and dear god, my nipples feel like they're on fire. My surgical dietitian told me to continue taking my bariatric vitamins and add pre-natal vitamins and extra folic acid. Hope your pregnancy continues to go smoothly without sickness because let me tell you, I had morning sickness with my 1st child for the 1st 5 months and I'll take what I have now any day over that. :-)
