Hey ladies!!! I am very discouraged and down about my pregnancy! It's not because of me getting pregnant, it's because of all the complications that I am having. I really don't have alot of people that I want to talk to about it, and my husband is so scared so it's kind of a sore subject around the house. This is my 1st pregnancy and i'm only 12 weeks along, but I was hospitalized because I passes out and had a seizure from my sugar dropping to fast. Then last week I was diagnosised with Palcental Previa. So i'm out of work indefinetly and at home on bed/couch/chair rest and have way to much time to think and worry. I have to go to a Maternal/Fetal specialist tomorrow because my OB said that I was "Super Duper High RIsk" and she doesn't know what to do with me. So i'm really scared and worried!!! Please help!!! I would love any advice!!!

Thanks!!!

I'm so sorry that you're experiencing these complications.  Just try to breathe.  Meditation is a great way to relax and give your mind a rest from the worrying.  Try picking up a hobby.  Do you knit?  Since you're pg... why not learn how to knit cute things for your baby?  Try to find something to keep you occupied.  I know it's not easy.  But sending lots of prayers your way.

So sorry for all the complications! Maryn is right... finding something to fill the time (healthy distractions) will help. It's easy to dwell on things when you have so much time on your hands. I hope your appt tomorrow puts you and your husband more at ease. Try your best to relax somehow because the baby can feel your stress too! Best wishes to you...

It's hard to be on bed rest! I had a rough first pregnancy too. I also had problems after my RNY with my sugar dropping and almost passing out too. Hopefully things will get a little easier. The sugar dropping I had to control with my diet- I couldn't indulge on sweets or carbs, as that seemed to make it worse. Hopefully you'll have better luck with a specialist. Not sure about you, but if my OB told me I was "super duper" high risk I would be upset- that just makes it all worse. It sounds more like a combination of things. The bed rest for the previa is one thing, and the sugars are another. Good news is that you can control your sugars by what you eat. Hobbies can help too. Spend some time researching baby names and planning for the baby. Look up designs for the nursery and such. I enjoyed that when I was on bed rest. Keep posting here too, It can be a lifesaver!

First thing you need to do is try and relax.Trust me stressing get you no Where and not good for the baby.Plecnta  Previa can be watched. Also at times so early in the pregnancy it can also get better so try and not to think the worst. As for the blood sugar drooping low try and keep up your levels with eating food that's good for you.

I wish the best of luck to you.

May my Angles rest in peace.....

I am somewhat in the same boat as you.. This is my 2nd pregnancy, 1st after RNY in 2005.. I have epilepsy, rheumatoid arthritis and severe anemia and B12 deficiency.. I was diagnosed w/ a marginal previa @ 16 wks, had to be hospitalized fo 3 days for bleeding.. I was put on bed/pelvic rest at that point.. At my 20 wk scan I was told the previa had resolved but I had a pap come back w/ cervical dysplasia (reoccuring since 2006 and prior cryosurgery) and had a colposcopy at 21 wks.. I had another episode of bleeding at 22 wks which stopped and yet another at 23 wks w/ ALOT of cramping which brought me to the hospital 6/16. I was in active labor dilated to 1cm w/ contractions 2 mins apart.. I was put on magnesium for 48 hours, given procardia and was only off magnesium for less than 24 hours when labor started again and had to be put back on it.  I have lost cervical length from 5.6 @ 20 wks to 2.5 on the 16, 2.1 on the 20th and Monday I measured 1.9 w/ funneling.. I of course am in the hospital on bedrest w/ pretty much the thought of I'm here until I have him.. It's VERY hard and I understand where your coming from.. going stir crazy, VERY scared and stressed and spend most of my time alone here. If you need someone to vent to, feel free to write me.. I will be praying for your and the babies health and a good outcome..

Just rest and relax while you can. All of my pregnancies have been severely high risk. I have 5 beautifil kids. I have a clotting disorder which had me doing blood thinner shots daily till week 28 then switching to 2 daily shots. My pregnancy with my twins I had previa which resolved later in pregnancy but I had bleeding until week 18. I also had a blood clot that formed between my twins that dissolved around week 24. I had gallbladder issues with my daughter in 09 and had to have open surgery at 28 weeks to have it removed. I also have low blood sugar and very low blood pressure especially while pregnant. I also spent 5 stays in the hospital with my 09 daughter for kidney infections everything is good and I had bedrest and pelvic rest with both pregnancies I just had. its hard but everything you are going through will be for a healthy baby
