C-section Question

Are you supposed to take the tape off your incision?  I don't go to my check up appt till the 5th, and my tape is really starting to cause my incision to itch...was wondering if you were told to take it off or leave it alone?

I was told to just let it come off on its own. The last couple I ended up just pulling off since they were basically hanging there.

I believe it is the same for all surgeries. You are supposed to let it come off on its own. That is what they told me for my RNY as well.

sounds like you could be allergic to the tape, call your Dr in the AM and see what they say to do. just try not to itch!

I was told to let them fall off too, but I pulled a few that were no longer effective...once they're not holding anything together and they're just irritating your skin, I think it's okay to take them off. The itching may not stop once they come off though...the itch can be a natural part of the healing process. Just keep the area as clean and dry as possible!
