Blood pressure has started to go up

Had a dr appointment yesterday.  I am 38+5.  Last week dr said she wanted to watch my blood pressure as it had gone up since what it normally had been running.  This whole pregnancy it's been about 110/77 or so.  But last week it was 128/83, which she said wasn't bad but since it was quite a bit higher than it was running she wanted to monitor it.  Well yesterday it was 138/92.  The resident talked to her supervisor and since the bottom number was above 90 and I had some swelling in my feet and legs, they wanted some blood work to check kidney function for pre-e.  I don't know when the results will come back but I hope they are fine.  I really don't want to have to be induced for pre-e since I was induced with my first child and it sucked really bad.  But at least I am far enough along that I won't have to do bed rest like I did with my first child.  And atleast my fiance will finally be home tomorrow afternoon for about a month so I don't have to worry about having this baby without him.

Good Morning! I'm sorry to hear you're gping through this! And of course worrying abort having pre e doesn't help your blood pressure, either! I don't know anything about that, but I did want to tell you that I had pitocin with Layla this week and an epidural 2 hours later ( that's how I was induced with my first - pitocin) and it was A LOT easier this time. I slept while I labored down and when I woke up I was ready to push. So, I guess my point is that every baby really is different, and if you have to be indices with this baby for safety, Don't be scared of repeating the first experience. Hugs!!!

Thank you.  When I was induced with my first, my contractions started coming so fast and so close together that I could barely handle it and I ended up with extremely bad back labor.  I'm just hoping to avoid that so I am a bit worried but if I have to be induced for the sake of the baby and me, then that's what I will do.

I'm glad that you and Layla are doing good.  She is absolutely beautiful!!

You are so close to full term. Hopefully they'll just let you cook a bit longer and go naturally into labor.  Great news that ur fiance will be home tomorrow and will be with you for the birth of your child.  Many prayers for an easy and safe and NATURAL labor and birth!
