Update on baby Alena

Hey girls!! I wanted to stop in once again and say thank you all so very much for your continued thoughts and prayers for my best friend and her daughter. Alena is now 5 days old (born at 32 weeks 4 days) and is doing amazingly well. She only required a nose canula for oxygen for a few hours after birth. She was born weighing 2lbs 6oz and was happily weighing 2lbs 11ozs yesterday. She had dropped down to slightly under 2lbs, but is receiving breast milk from Mommy through a tube in her nose that goes straight to her tiny tummy. My best friend is doing her best to stay positive. The hospital is accomodating them well and she sends me pictures and updates as often as possible. They have had minor setbacks here and there with feeding issues, but things are headed in the right direction. The post partum hormones are getting Mommy really down and frustrated, but with the grace of God and everyone's continues prayers- Alena will be thriving and home in no time....and Mommy can release some of that horrible stress!!

I was born weighing 2lbs 4oz.... and this was 30+ years ago. I will continue to pray for your friend and baby Alena...

Sounds like she is starting to thrive and should be home soon!!!!
