Did my water just break?

SO, this being my second, I really feel I should know this, but since I was induced at 42 weeks with the first girlie, I have no idea what I am doing.

I've been in Phase I labor for like three days, bad cramps, no sleep, lots of mucus, lots of cervical fluid ... anyway. Bad day at Red Rock today. Felt off all day and so DH, DD, and I went for a nice long walk up and down hills.

Got home, at dinner, laid down on the sofa, and felt a * pop * and then a gush of about a cup and a half of fluid.Did not at all feel like my bladder emptying, but a relief certainely. Made it down the hall and into the shower where I continued to leak. Does not smell like urine ... TMI, I know. But it smells like nickles or something. And kinda a yellow tinge, but it does not smell like urine.

So, do you guys think that was it? I know that my contractions should pick up here in a couple hours if it was, but I wanted to throw it out there ... and for my FB friends, not posting on there at all til I go into active labor ....

Thanks for any input.

Sounds like it might be. If it did, it will continue to leak out. You should go to L&D, they can check if it is or not.

your water broke. You should go to the hospital now, cuz when your water breaks there is a tendancy that an infection could start within 24hrs. you might be further along with your labor than you may think. good luck

Sounds like Layla is well on her way! You don't want to wait things out to see if things pick up, because once the amniotic sac has broken, the baby needs to come out or else risk infection because the membranes are no longer protecting the baby/you from the outside. Enjoy your girls! Congrats!

So, yes. It was my water, thanks for the support ladies! Started pit because I wasn't progressing six hours after they ruptured, and just got my epidural. I'll be getting checked on a few hours, and will keep you posted!
