So...
Well ladies, I got a huge shock tonight!!!!
I have been having some gallbladder pain the last couple of weeks and I just saw my surgeon on the 8th and mentioned it to him. He referred me for a HIDA scan to find out what's going on. My scan was scheduled for tomorrow. I did my pre-registration thing over the phone with the hospital this afternoon. One of the questions was "is there any chance you could be pregnant?" My last cyle was about a month ago.... I took a test this evening just to be sure I wasn't pregnant. It was positive.
I'm not to the year mark for my revision yet, obviously. I am totally in shock. Just absolute shock. I am down 120 pounds total, and am 50 pounds away from my goal weight. I can eat A LOT of food with my sleeve, so I'm not worried about that. My 8 month post op labs were just done and they look great.
I will be calling my surgeon's office in the morning. I am nervous about that conversation. I don't have any excuses. DH and I were not as careful as we should have been the past few weeks. I was 110% convinced it would take fertility meds for me to get pregnant. I haven't gotten the regular menstral cycle results that I was hoping for/expecting after so much weight loss. I've been very active in the infertility community, especially lately. I was feeling more and more broken. At least when I weighed close to 400 pounds I could blame the infertility on my weight. As I got smaller and my cycle wasn't improving much it was very depressing!
I am terrified that I will miscarry due to my PCOS. I am calling my OB/GYN first thing in the morning! I can't sleep and its 3am in the morning......... mind is reeling..........

Congratulations! What an awesome surprise since it sounds like you want a baby anyway! I had my VSG done in early August and I got pregnant just after 6 months out. I've had a very easy pregnancy so far (knock on wood), I'm 19 weeks along. My surgeons office was really supportive and did not have any concerns. All of my six month labs were really good and my weight loss had slowed pretty dramatically at that point anyway. My OB does not have any sleeve related concerns since we don't have malabsorbtion (you did revise to sleeve, right?) so I'm basically just treated like a normal patient. I will be going to have my labs checked again soon, but that is pretty much the only difference. As for diet the, only thing is to make sure you're eating carbs so that you're not in ketosis as this can be very dangerous for the baby, and make sure your vitamin has folic acid. Otherwise, just continue as normal and take a moment to celebrate your little miracle! If you have any questions feel free to PM me any time (warning I will be gone all next week) and I'll help in any way I can!
Thank you so much Paula! Yes, I had a revision from band to sleeve, 8 months ago. My weight loss has also SLOOOOOOWED way down in the last 2 months. I was losing up to 1 pound a week the past few weeks by deligent eating well/walking. I have been following WW points plus plan and love it! It really focues on protein and limits refinded carbs. I am getting plenty of carbs: whole grains, fruit, veg, milk etc.
I have been taking a prenatal vitamin the past few months anyway because they are double iron from a regular vitamin and meet my post op needs great. I also take a sublinguel B complex a couple times per week. All of my vitamin levels were perfect on my last test on June 1st.
I am so thankful to my sleeve. I'm not worried about gaining 70+ pounds during pregnancy, like I know I would have prior. I feel healthier than ever!

Congrats! The hormones tend to help you eat way more with the sleeve than before pregnant. But I am happy to report that now alittle over 2 weeks PP my restriction and lack of desire for food is returning. You should do wonderfully. Wishing you a happy and healthy 40wks!

Thank you so much ladies for the positive well wishes! I'm about to go in to my OB/GYN's office to take a blood test and talk about progesterone supplementation. I confirmed with the hospital that my HIDA scan needed to be cancelled.
I wanted this baby more than anything in my life. It was my #1 motivator to get the band out and lose weight. I just thought it would take a lot more work to get there!

Congrats and welcome! I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.
You can ask your dr to do an u/s to check the gallbladder A lot of times (not always) they can see gallstones w/an u/s. Not that you want them to do surgery right now...but at least you 'll know if that's the problem so they can monitor it. If it is, you'll really need to watch what you eat - avoid spicy and/or fatty like the plague.
Welcome again!
