What do I pack in hospital bags for me and baby?

I've been trying hard not to think I'll end up needing a c-section but you're right... It's a real possibility so I do need to keep that in the back of my mind too...

The hospital provides all the stuff needed for baby so just the outfits and a blanket work. I used the hospital undies because in the beginning you are bleeding alot. They give you giant pads to wear in the net undies that wouldn't even fit in some of my personal underwear. Travel sized toiletries are a personal choice as the hospital gave me everything to shower with. I was also a c-section and the first day or so I just wore the hospital gown. After that I wore loose PJ bottons and a tank top with sportsbra.

My laptop was invaluable to me. I made playlists for labor and I ripped baby CD's for soothing music. Then I used the wifi for skype.

Check out if your recovery rooms are private or semiprivate. If semiprivate rooms the hospital might have a few private rooms for a small upcharge you pay. $50-200 a night or something along those lines. It is worth it to me to be alone.

I would also find out how food works in your hospital. My hospital had a menu you could order from 7am-7pm like room service. The patient got 3 meals a day. I also got a free guest meal once. (not sure if i only got one guest meal since I didn't try to order for anyone else until the last day) So check out if you can also order for whoever will be with you.

I know I went abit beyond just the hospital bag but you can plan abit more if you know some more details about your hospital as well.

The hospital does provide wifi thank goodness so laptop is a must, plus it'll keep the hubby entertained while i'm sleeping.

I'm almost sure the rooms are private but I'll find out next week on our tour of the hospital.  I would much rather pay a little extra to be alone too...

I always hear about people wearing the net panties at the hospital. I HATED those panties and wore my own, I was just prepared to throw them out if needed. Those panties did not fit right!

Those panties scare me too but I don't want to ruin my own.... lol  So let's hope they fit me right... If not I'll have to resort to some cheapie ones that I can just throw away...

Take your oldest panties and then you can throw them out and get some nice new ones as a pick me up after Baby comes.

Loved the net undies because it felt like I was wearing nothing.

Its been 5 years for me. But I heard that the hosp does not provide diapers, or formula if your not breast feeding. Is this true. If so I would invest in those ready made mini bottles of formula it would be a pain to have to bring bottles etc.....
