Starving at 26 weeks!
Yes. I am pretty sure my pouch exploded and all the food is falling into a bottomless pit. The dietitian I saw today said it probably stretched a little, and to eat very small meals every 4-5 hours.
Word to the wise....cottage cheese is great for us. Lots of protien & vites, and easy on the pouch yet filling. Even better with fresh fruit. My favorite is Breakstones 2%. Just avoid the 4% if you are trying to maintain your weight...it has too much fat.

Chelle, do you think we are stretching it? Can it stretch more during pregnancy? I find myself with gnawing hunger every 2 HOURS! I would have to eat a dense, hearty meal to keep me full for 4-5 hours. I will certainly try this tomorrow but I will probably have to have a 2 egg omlette with lots of cheese and maybe an English muffin to hold me that long. I just wonder if I will need a revision after all this, but maybe not until after my second baby....2 is me and the hubby's goal and we probably want to do it so they are close in age...Unless motherhood is too much for me and I feel I need a break haha :)
Hi,
For the puch to get stretched significantly, we would have to eat a lot all at once, on a steady basis. It does stretch a little over time normally. But it does have the ability to shrink back to some point. The key is to eat smaller meals more frequently, so we are not famished but the volume is less. I know we should not be worrying about this while pregnant but I am concerned because I can eat a whole plate of food. So I will try this "eating less, more frequently" deal and see if that helps. Tonight I am going to boil a bunch of eggs and use them for snacks.

I am happy to hear that it will shrink back down once the baby arrives, I was giving myself worry thinking I would automatically need a revision since I, too, can devour a whole plate of food. Oddly enough, this AM, I ate 3 eggs with a slice of cheese and can barely make myself eat lunch now, am pleasantly full and happy.
I think so much of it does have to do with WHAT we eat, at least for me. SOOO many foods are sliders for me and I am a terrible grazer, mainly because I eat slider foods and am starving 2 hours later. I am trying this 4 hour thing, and hoping it works! I have also started walking 20 minutes, twice a day since I am a notorious non-exerciser. I just want to be strong when the baby arrives and have enough energy to take care of him (and me, for that matter!)
