When do you get your first period post partum?  I didn't think to ask my MD this question.  I'm not breast feeding, so that's not going to be a factor.  Just curious.  Thanks, ladies!!

Mine was 10 weeks and I barely breastfed until 2 months, mostly supplemented.

I breastfeed. With my twins it was well over a year. Currently my son is 3 month old and AF is still staying away.

The day after my baby girl turned 10 weeks old. The first period was strong, painful, and lasted 1 week. My periods prior to pregnancy only lasted about 4-5 days and were also very painful. Now they last a week but they are WAY less painful than they use to be. I have PCOS, however, after loosing all of the weight from my gastric bypass my symptoms have gone away with that. I breastfeed exclusively for a month, than supplemented with formula because of my short milk supply. I am lucky now to give my daughter 3-4ounces of breast milk a day so she mostly is formula fed.
