Is it gas or something more?

I am sitting in L&D they are keeping me overnight. I have horrible pains a dull ache in my abdomen that started under my rib cage. They have ruled out gallbladder, kidney and appendix. They kept me in the beginning because I was having mild contractions but they have stopped after them giving me a shot. They are hoping my pain subsides and my doctor thinks if it doesn't get better (if it doesn't pass like gas) then he will call in a gastrointestinal doctor. What a mess. Has anyone else experienced this? I am just a worry sort and this is not helping.
Any constructive or first hand advice is appreciated.

 Have them do an MRI and look for a bowel intussusception. I had this while pregnant and needed emergency surgery. I just gave birth 3 weeks ago and Tuesday I had this happen to me again and had another emergency surgery. This can be common after WLS and can happen to pregnant women even more commonly yet its harder to diagnose. Best wishes!! I hope they resolve this soon!

Oh no Candess, not again!!! Thank God little Eden was already safely in the world this time. I hope you are recovering well.

 Thanks so much! I am feeling better, much easier recovery this time. I assume being preggers last time made me extra sick! Nervous though- could be a tumor or hopefully only a polyp causing this. Will see a specialist soon! So glad Eden didnt have to endure this once again! What a relief!! :)

Or it could be something as simple as baby pushing on scar tissue up there (if you have it there). But be sure everything is checked out,, better to be safe :)

I am at home now they ruled out a bunch of stuff but never figuered out what the problem was. Pain went away this morning and food went down and stayed down pain free before they would let me go home. Crazy night. Hope that doesn't ever happen again it was horrible. Thank you for your responses they were much appreciated. 5 more weeks and I can stop worrying about the baby inside. Next is the overall worry of just having a child.
