Thank you for your responses! I feel a little better going into this. I do take iron with vit c, but my body is just not able to keep up. I have a lot of faith in my OB and will start the iron infusions next week as part of a 3 week series. Thank you all again for your help and support!

It completely depends on the type of infusion you get. There are several. I posted a link below. It has several types of "iron" infusions & includes types of reactions that are common with each one(the site is targeted for dialysis pt's, but is still helpful). I just recently did 3 IV Venofer infusions & they were a breeze. It only takes 15-30 minutes to infuse. Venofer is not as easily absorbed. So, they normally administer a few infusions over 2 weeks depending on your levels. I talked with several nurses who give IV infusions all day & they said that they would definitely choose Venofer. I didn't even have to choose because that is exactly what my hematologist ordered. The 2 infusion nurses that administered my doses said they had never seen a reaction to Venofer. It brought up my H&H as well as my Iron levels. On the other hand, there is another type that the nurses said almost every patient has a reaction to. Hope this helps!
