Visions Issues,Tornado Warnings, and Bedrest...again!

Yesterday I woke up with blurry vision in my right eye.  It didn't resolve after a few hours so my eye doctor saw me.  There is nothing wrong structurely wrong with my eye, but he thought there may be some edema in my cornea due to my pregnancy.  He wanted me to follow up with OB.

Today, woke up with the same issue and called my OB who wanted to see me this morning.  I went to the hosptial where my doctor's office is and was checked into a exam room.  About 5 minutes later, the nurse tells us they are evacuating the entire hosptial due to a tornado warning in the county.  So, I had to walk down 12 FLIGHT OF STAIRS to the cafeteria.  I made it down without any issues and they were nice enough to give us crackers and water while we waited.  I started to feel cramping about 30 minutes after getting to the cafeteria.  When we were finally released, I went back to the doctor and told them about the cramping.

They did get my BP and baby's HR before we were evacuated and it was 122/86 and 143.  They tested again to make sure I wasn't stressing out due to today's events.  My BP dropped to 118/72, but the baby's HR was 153.  The OB thought the baby was a little stressed due to the events and that I hadn't eaten anything but breakfast and crackers.  I"m on bedrest the rest of the day until the cramping stops, but if they turn into contractions I have to go to the ER.  The OB already told me if I start contracting, since I'm considered pre-vitable, there may not be much they can do.  So, I'm laying here watching Oprah and hoping everything works out ok.

Thanks.  The cramping has subsided a bit, but no contractions or bleeding.  No more severe weather for the night, so we don't have to keep the running shoes by the bed tonight.

Hoping the cramps are still gone and that it was just stress from having to go down all those stairs, combined with TORNADO stress (yeah, I think they'd be a little stressful!).

Did he even get to the eye issue?

Hope things are getting better and the tornados go away for everyone in 'tornado alley.'

Be safe...and get your bed rest...it certainly can't hurt.

Cramps are still gone.  Baby is playing the tickle game, so I"m assuming baby is fine.  My legs and hips are very sore from my impromptu workout!

The OB disagreed with my eye doctor that my pregnancy was causing my vision disturbances, but drew my blood and marked my blood pressure.  My eye dr thought it was either corneal edema or blood sugar issues related to the pregnancy.  If my blood work comes back normal, the OB is deferring to my PCP.  I can guarantee my PCP will defer back to my eye doctor.  It's quite annoying.

The weather should be nice the new few days, I hope I can enjoy it.  I always get assigned to bedrest when I have too much to do.  Never when I'm exhausted! lol
