Introducing myself
Hi All. My name is Bonnie and I live in CT. I'm almost 14 months out from my DS surgery.
I'm excited to be able to post here. My husband and I have just started trying again after taking some time off after my WLS. We've just gone through some tesst etc and all seemed to come out fine. My husband's test results haven't come back yet but I expect/hope there will be no issues.
See you around the board.

Welcome to the board and congrats on a great weight loss. Make sure you let your bari surgeon know that you're TTC now. Many surgeons generally recommend waiting 18-24 months post-op before TTC. And since DS typically comes with the highest level of malabsorption of all the WLS, definitely make sure you work with your bari surgeon and that your OB is well aware of your DS and the malabsorption that your body has. But every surgeon and every patient is different. Mine gave me the green light at 15 mos post op because my weight loss had stablized and my OB really wanted me to jump on it asap due to my age (40.)
Good luck!
Good luck!
Yes, my bari surgeon is the one who pushed me to start trying now and not wait the 18 mos. since my blood levels are fine etc and my weight loss has stabalized. He basically said I wasn't getting any younger, and he's right--I have no children yet and would like 2 or 3 if we can. I'll be 37 next month.
My OB and Fertility docs are both aware and seem not terribly concerned but of course they have no real knowledge of the DS except what I provided to them. They are sending me to a doctor specifically to talk to him about vitamins etc--should be interesting since he knows nothing about the DS either.
I've heard from a couple people on OH about what they did to stay healthy during pregnancy but was hoping for some others too.
Thanks for the well wishes!

I see Stratford and Stamford already confused...to add to that, I grew up in STAFFORD, CT! Whenever I tell someone that, and they say they know where that is, I assure them they're thinking of either Stratford or Stamford, not Stafford (which is a very small town up on the MA border, closer to Springfield, MA).
We're not yet TTC, but I'll be taking out my last NuvaRing in mid-June, and we'll see what hapens from there :)
