I had what I thought was my last Dr's appointment this afternoon. I thought we would be checking everything out and then off to the hospital on thurs night. Well.. I am dilated more than before and progressing but the baby is not engaged in my pelvic area. He is still floating around where he wants. Because of this the Dr doesn't want to induce because it could lead to an overly long labor which will lead to a c-section. I understand that and respect my Dr's medical opinion. But I am so damn disappointed I cried for 10 mins in my car before I could drive home.

On top of it I somewhat snapped after talking to baby's daddy, my father, and my step father who ALL said.. well the baby will come when he is ready. These are not encouraging words and easy for you to freaking say. You don't have to pee every 2 mins but nothing but a few drops come out.. you don't have a pulled muscle in your side that makes walking or twisting or sleeping or living painful. You also don't have sciatic pain down your leg that hits at the most random times and buckles the leg making you almost fall. I am so done! And the push back on the induction was more for my benefit than the baby's. Dr doesn't want me in labor for a crazy amt of time and get tired. The baby is cooked and can come out at anytime and be perfect. ::Takes a big breath::

I am sorry for the rant and I can see how it can seem selfish even. I just had a date given to me. The hospital was booked. I had plans set. My mom took off work for it. And now it is pushed back. Thanks for listening.

ETA: TMI WARNING.. as i got up to pee for the 100th time today while writing this I am pretty sure I am having my bloody show.. that's something good at least!

Bloody show is good! Sending tons of easy labor vibes!!!!

((Hugs)) I know exactly how you're feeling. I was SO done with being pregnant after 36+ weeks but my little guy decided to stay put until 40 wks, on my due date. I was planning to beg my OB for a csection if I hadn't gone into labor when I did.

Thanks!  Now I am curious how long after noticing the bloody show did people go into labor. I have ready it can be days and days or hours.  Unfortinately my mother doesn't even remember what a bloody show is!!

For me, it was 48 hours between bloody show and the onset of real labor.

Well the thought it could be only a day or so is some what comforting. I have been having back pain and cramping but then again I have been having that for weeks with nothing to show for it. ::Shrugs::

Awww I am so sorry.  But listen girl we all signed on for 40 weeks, and I KNOW it's a big pain in the ass.  Sounds like your LO is going to be coming on his own, and you know what that is a lot better in the long run!  Inductions most of the time DO lead to c-sections which is something you really don't want.  I am really saying this to be encouraging, but you will not be pregnant forever!!

You are like me, I can tell, you want to know and be in control of the situation.  it is human nature.  but believe me this is one thing we really can't have control over, and it makes us anxious!  totally normal, but girl you will be just fine and he is going to come when he is ready!

Hang in there!

Yeah I had that whole day planned out. Was going to only nap so I could try to sleep early part  of labor when nothing much was happening. I had plans for mani and pedi with my mom before the hospital. Was going to go to walmart and pick up cookies for the L&D nurses. But it can't be as we planned. My WLS surgery got all moved around too. I should know better about trying to plan these things!

I'm sorry!  I hope your labor progresses and soon you will be holding on to your little one.  I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks! How is your little one? Getting use to having an outside baby yet?!  And did you notice your bloody show? and if so how long before you started in with the labor?

Hey you,  Baby Ryan is doing great.  He is continuing to gain weight which is crucial since he was so tiny when he was born.  Had a Dr.'s appt today and he gained 6 oz in 4 days.  He is now at 5 lbs 9 ounces.

Funny about getting used to having an outside baby yet, as I was just thinking how much I missed being pregnant and feeling him move inside me, but now I get to see him move and share it with my family.

i did not have a bloody show.  My water broke at 3am and I was no where near dilated or thinned so they had to induce me.  I got to the hospital at 4am and gave birth at 5:30pm.  Being induced went very slowly.  I did not really start laboring until about 3pm.  Starting pushing about 4:45 ish.

Good luck to you and keep us updated.
