Anyone else....

having trouble with their iron levels?.  I was already taking my prenatal vitamin and I went to my DR saying I was feeling more tired than normal. My iron levels & red cell count came back really low. I then started taking Fefol with my prenatal vitamin to give me more of a boost in getting my iron. Blood tests 3 weeks later showed my numbers had gone down more that now I have told to add another iron supp ( this time I'm looking at Floradix, It worked great before & after my op). This means I will be on 1 prenatal vitamin and 2 different iron supps every day. This kind of has me worried that it might be to much iron coming in and it will do something to Bug.

Any help would be greatful. My Dr doesn't know much about the sleeve but is learning about it.

i just wanted to say i not sure at all why your levels are coming down this kinda has me worried i have VSG 8-9-10 and i had a emergancy open proceedure due to a complication with my spleen needing a blood transfusion, i am already takeing a prenatal, iron supplement, calcium, biotin, fiolate, and b-12. i hope someone can answer, if this is something the sleevers might have to face? best of luck and keep us posted.

I had an issue following my surgery with some low levels and then when I got pergnant they followed them pretty close..but at 6 months pregnant my levels dropped pretty low so they took me off the regular iron and out me on something called vitron-c..you get it at CVS and it is a high potency iron. I took it 2x a day and it helped a bit and then right after the baby, my H and H dropped to 18 and 6..they kept saying they were going to transfuse me but since I had a c-section and wasn't "bleeding" a lot they added one more of my vitron-c's and it helped a bit..I still know they are low and I am still exhausted.
