Baby Pirate Watch 2011 Update

Well, here I find myself at 36 weeks and a day and if I squint, I can see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel! WooHoo! For those of you who have been around for the duration, you know this pregnancy has been more of a "challenge" than the first, what with the bladder and vaginal prolapsing, back issues, blah blah blah, but since I have taken off of work and we are in our new house, I have had the opportunity to rest more and that seems to have eased up the contractions a bit. Granted, about two times a week, I have bouts of them that measure five minutes apart and three minutes long - like clockwork - but they seem to be paying off. I went in for my check up Friday and was checked because I had been having such intense contractions. The doctor was very surprised to annouce that my cervix was soft and "mushy" and that I was a finger tip dialated. I asked her if she felt like being generous and calling it a "one:" but she lauged and said "Maybe next week". So, I'm taking that as a positive, getting as much rest as I can , and I should probably pack a hospital bag.
Now, I know I can cruise around with a soft cervix for quite a while, but I'm hoping that it means a sooner rather than later entrance for Layla. Thanks for all your support ladies! xo

Thanks! Of course, I want her to bake as long as she needs to, but I think I am at * THAT * point where I am just done.

YAY! I know i get excited everytime I go and they say things are moving toward D day with my cervix too. How odd is it that we have come to celebrate such weird things. LOL

Pretty much. My life revolves around cervical activity right now. lol

YAY! Come on Miss Layla! (LOVE that name by the way!)

I swear I was coming up with a "dialation" dance by the time I was 36 weeks! lol

Can't wait to see pics of miss Layla soon. It won't be long now :)

 Sounds like things are moving along! Glad you are getting a chance to rest up (as well as you can rest with a toddler around LOL). I can't believe you are 36 weeks already, so excited to hear all about Layla's entrence into the world!
