here's my problem ladies: i had my mirena removed cause time was up, and it grew into my utreus caused cysts on my ovaries and damage to my cervix(i also had to get my cervix biopsed cause of these growths the device had cause and also got a d&c to make sure it was cleaned out well). so i refuse to put any device back into my body it had taken me 2 weeks to heel from the removal of the iud. and friday i go in for my 3 week postop. i was going to ask for a pill someone told me there is a chewable bc pill but all these stories seems like the only way 2 avoid getting pregnant now is (iud, which i wont do, nuva ring which again i wont do)abstenance which wont be happening. i also read lots of stories about the dep. shot not working either. so im just ,idk what to do. i want another kid just didnt plan  on going 4 it right away. and i married neither of us likes condoms

There Is actually a new birth control out there that is place in you arm and its an implant they cut a small incision in your arm and it take 2 stitches to sew it up and it is good for 5 years or it is taken out.

yeah its a newer version of norplant but not alot of dr's know how to or actually administer it, they are afraid of it growing into ur arm like the old ones did....even with that being said i would rather have it grow into my arm then to have a device get stuck and grow into my uterine wall.....wish i was able 2 find a dr. that would preform this method of bc

What about the patch with RNY? I know nothing about it except you have to be 198lbs or less for it to be most effective.

That's weird, my surgeon and insurance company made me sign an acknowledgement statement that I would use an alternative to the pill for birth control for the first 18 months post-op. They made it VERY clear that all birth control pills would be malabsorbed and result in pregnancy. Depo worked great for me and the Nuvaring or patch were great alternatives offered to me by my GYN. I never had problems with Depo. Good luck in finding one that suits you.

There is no reason depo-provera wouldn't work as it is absorbed intra-muscularly, it sounds like the best option for you.
