Can I ***** for a second?? Long
Thanks ladies, I needed to vent. Hubby agrees with me which is good. she just left and was OK but still didn't say happy mothers day even though my FIL did. I really don't get her but she is very childish and petty about certain things. When she left hubby said he would talk to her. So I will keep everyone updated.

I'm very lucky that my MIL is awesome! It's the other way around, my mom is the crazy one who's accused DH of everything from controlling me, enabling me, abusing me...all because he stood up to her when she insulted me! DH's mom isn't intrusive at all which is great! She's always allowed her boys to live their lives. Of course she has her opinions but she knows they are just that and there are some things she just doesn't interfere with. I feel really bad you have to go through this with yours. I think because he is her only child she may feel like you took him from her, my mom treats my brother's wife like that and it's really not right! She's done everything she can to try to get him to leave her and she threw a major fit when my brother's wife didn't want her in the room when she had her kids. Hope you find some answers with what's going on with your body! Don't give up hope, you'll have another lil one!

My MIL called TWICE on Sunday, demanding to speak with Alex on webcam and not once wished me a Happy Mother's Day. And for my birthday, I always get "Oh, it's your birthday? Right.. I'll mail your card when I get a chance" Card NEVER shows. So this year, I was a ***** and i can admit it. I purposely did not send out Mother's Day cards. My mom was away on holidays, so it was no biggie for her.. but I wasn't putting forth the extra effort for MIL.
Your MIL always sounds like a pain in the butt . You know what I feel this time too - sadness. Maybe mothers' day makes her feel depressed, a sense of loss? I wonder if she wanted more than one child, if she lost. There is something about you, your fertility, your life that gets to her.
I for example despise mothers day. It is painful. I am a childless mother so I can understand how others who have experienced loss feel. I try and go along with the program though but just for my mom it seems. I've detached myself. I don't say "happy mothers day" and I want to roll under a rock when I am out and people assume and say it to me. I have to say "thanks, I am not a mother". Now I don't mean to not acknowledge it, it is some dissociative thing I've developed to help me to survive and keep the pain away. This year I honestly wanted to rent a room somewhere so that I could remove myself completely. It all worked out fine - I busied myself and the day passed.
So I don't know what your MIL is thinking but she is always going to be the way she is - it seems. Just do what you need to do to may you happy and let her be. Don't expect anything more. Maybe she did just need Sage and nothing more. A child always makes makes it better.
Blessings,
Leila
