That was the biggest surprise of my life!. I needed long term treatment and artificial insemination to have my now 5 year old daughter, and now, after only one BD without prevention, I found myself expecting again.
I am very happy but sooo nervous. I am a bit less worries about nutrition of the fetus after reading many posts of women in similar situations however, I am craving junk and I just had half a package of cheetos with tons of fat and empty calories. Dont know why, just had to have it.
I feel very tired all the time and my muscles in arms and legs seem to be all sore and i get exausted after going up a flight of stairs... I just wish I could be in bed all day. I feel uncomfortable but cannot say it is nausea, it is a general discomfort all over, something I did not have before.
I would appreciate to hear about your experiences and tips on how to cope with pregancy and litle food. I am trying to eat more regularly but I still feel very full after 1/2 a cup of food. I am drinking more milk but cant stand protein shakes.
I hope it will get better soon!

Congrats. I can understand after all the problems you had getting pregnant the first time this would be a surprise. First thing to do is call your surgeon. They might not be as helpful since I see you got your surgery in MX like I did. Second you want to call and make an OB appt. Try and find an OB with knows about VSG and bring in surgery info to give your OB an idea of what the VSG is. I think VSG is one of the hardest to explain because more people know about the RNY. Not sure how canada does it but my Specialist, who I saw for a routine test around 12 wks, wanted to be safe and ordered me extra U/S every 4-6 wks.

You need carbs for the baby so don't cut those out. I drank OJ with Calcium in it to help boost what I couldnt get just from milk. Ask for extra labs in your normal preg workup. Check your vitamins, iron, ect. And have them checked again in a few months. The preg hormones help you eat more but I do know some women who set alarms to wake up every few hours to eat extra. You will crave junk. Alot of women go with the 80/20 plan.. 80% good food and 20% not so good.

This of course is not the ideal cause you are so fresh post op but if you can be an advocate for you and your baby with your Dr's you can monitor everyone's well being.

Hope that helps!

Just an update...
I have had so much nausea, dizziness, all day long queasiness. It has been hard to even feel happy about the pregnancy. I have lost five pounds in two weeks and feel very weak. Taking Mede for nausea and trying to eat but my stomach does not agree with any food. I hope this will pass soon ... Anyone else had such bad nausea?
