Getting a little nervous...

So, I'm right at 27 weeks now and I had a regular OB visit last Friday.  I've dropped 3 lbs since my last appointment a month ago.  This is after losing 30 lbs the first trimester and gaining back about 6 lbs during the second.  My OB said that my uterus is measuring right on track and the baby's heartbeat is strong.  But he's bringing me in for another anatomy scan in 2 weeks to be sure the baby is developing properly.  When I left the office, I wasn't too concerned because the baby has been so active, my stomach has grown what I feel is A LOT, and I've been feeling well.  Well, in the last five days, things seem to have changed (or maybe I'm imagining it?).  Two people have told me that I look like I've lost significant weight in the last few weeks, my stomach seems to have lost an inch, I haven't felt up to par the last 3 days, I've lost another pound and the baby has not been AS active as he has been.  Now, I know that the baby's position can affect the size and shape of my stomach and although I've only either gained steadily or lost steadily since getting pg, having a little weight flucuation is normal.  The baby IS moving and I check the heartbeat everyday on my doppler....But is there something else I can do?  I'm eating as much as I can (and dumping all the time from forcing myself to eat more), but do any of you have suggestions for something I can do or eat to get in more calories?  I've been more active ever since the horribe MS went away so maybe that's why I'm not gaining?  Am I overthinking this....at what point do I allow myself to freak out?  I'm going tomorrow for my glucose tolerance test (eating breakfast, not the syrup) and my OB gladly added my bariatric labs to the script (love him), so I guess I just wait it out until that comes back and they do the ultrasound?  Any advice ladies?

I really don't have any advice, but wanted to say that I'm thinking of you and pray that all is good and baby is growing on track!

Try drinking your calories. I drank/ate tons of 2% or Whole milk, real fruit juice, full fat soups and even ice cream in order to maintain my weight during pregnancy. I had an awful time trying to *not* loose weight and drinking rather than eating helped a lot.

Good luck

~28 wks was when my little guy settled into the head down position and I noticed a decrease in activity.

Thanks for this advice...you just reminded me that I was drinking 1 glass of milk before bed every night and I need to start doing that again.

I would relax if you can manage it. I would ignore what others say about your stomach. I am 36 wks friday and people are just now noticing I am pregnant.. and think I am maybe 5 months. Your weight loss isn't a new issue and it seems your dr is taking all the procautions for you.

As for adding more calories.. I don't know what you can handle but I'd add toppings to everything you eat. Peanut butter to fruits and veggies. Or ranch dressing. Full fat and full calories. Just some little things that can pack a calorie punch.

Thanks for your response...my OB has been really great and I need to calm down a bit. :)

I'm going to get some ranch dressing for sure...eat it with some hot wings and celery tonight, maybe. Yeah, that's making the tumbly rumbly. LOL

Hey sweetie.  Just keep breathing... relax... and be careful with the dumping.  I know you need to up your calories, but keep trying different foods that will help you increase ur cals w/out dumping.  Both you & ur lil one will be just fine! I'm sure!  **hugs**

I just wanted to let you know that the same things happened to me, and I was worried as well.  I think mostly it was because I was still in the losing stage when I got pregnant, but I never gained weight and just kept losing.  My daughter was born 5 weeks early but perfectly healthy and is huge for her age now.  The anatomy scan will make you feel better, I'm sure but don't freak out, the stress will just make you think even worse things when there is probably nothing at all wrong.  Wishing the best for you!
