Weird/Gross Pregnancy Symptom #867 - Dry Skin on Torso
Hi Girls,
I have heard that pregnancy can make for some very unpleasant skin conditions. I am experiencing something weird and nothing I do seems to help. I have dry skin naturally, so I always, always put on lots of lotion all over my body after I shower and have since I was a teenager.
Over the last little while I have noticed that my whole torso is very, very dry. It is not an itchy dry at all but when I take off my PJs or my clothes at the end of the day, my skin is just flaking right off. It is soft and papery, not rough and scaley - but it is abundantly dry. It is almost as if I had a really bad sunburn and has now faded and is peeling.
I bought some exfoliating gloves and a mild exfoliator for the shower and I scrub down daily. I apply Eucerin cream for extra dry skin twice a day. Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Thanks! I normally use Aveeno too - I really like their products. I am afraid that my peeling is beyond the Aveeno point. Urgh! Saw my OB today and what I am experiencing is just normal. It is so weird, I am not itchy and my usual eczema is not acting up - I am just peeling and dry. It is gross, but as far as symptoms go, it is one of the easier ones!

PS How is Hazel today? My Hazel, my 19 month old niece, is so cute! I wish she lived in Ottawa but is in Toronto which is so far away!
