Breastfeeding question

Hi

I am wanting to breastfeed when my Bug is born. I am eating so differently now to when I'm not pregnant it had me thinking if you still ate the same way you as you did when pregnant, did/could you go back to how you ate before you were pregnant or the same as before you were pregnant with a few extra things?

I still don't eat much ( I eat around the clock) and Bug is growing even though she is measuring nearly 2weeks behind in her size. I'm having a few more u/s to watch her as they can't say why she is small. I have just managed to gain 2lbs by 23weeks.
If I have a busy day or 2 I will lose that weight and then some.

I really want to breastfeed like I did with my others.

Best wishes

You burn more than 500 calories just breast feeding so in return you really have to eat more calories. I find that if I do not eat very often, I am STARVING! Like I feel like I have not eaten in days. So I still eat like I did when I was pregnant though. I am waiting for when my son is able to eat real baby food too so I can stop eating like crazy!

Besides the calorie increase there is a wider ranger of foods you are allowed to eat BFing vs pregnant. What to expect has a section on the back that lists a BFing diet suggestion.
