Lots of baby name talk around here recently!

So, we're not even TTC yet (I'll be taking my NuvaRing out in June so we can start trying in late July), but my husband announced to me that he has decided on the name if we have a girl.

My first reaction was wondering why he thought it was his choice! But anyway...

He said he wanted to name her (if we ever have a "her") either Elizabeth Jean or Jean Elizabeth. I don't like either name, but he said Elizabeth and Jean were the names of his grandmother and great grandmother, and they were the most important women in his life growing up. Honestly, the girls' names I like are all just because I like them, so I can't deny him these names that actually have meaning for him.

Our last name starts with a W, so we already nixed Jean Elizabeth because of the initials (not that it bothers me, but no need to tempt mean kids with a way to make fun of her name!).

So, Elizabeth Jean. I'm not in love with it; I really like sort of cuter sounding girls' names. I was thinking we could call her Lizzie, but my niece's name is Isabelle, and we cann her Izzy, so we don't realy need to add that kind of confusion to the family!

My favorite name before he mentioned all this was Evie (pronounce E.V.). So, we talked about it and decided we could get creative with Elizabeth and sort of compromise with my favorite name. So, if we have an Elizabeth, we will call her Ellie for short   :)

Now, if we end up having a boy, we're lost!

Good Luck with your decision when that time comes. This is something big because you will be calling her that name for the rest of her life.
