Labor and lap band
Hi there,
I'm not sure if this will be of much help. I'm only about 8 weeks pregnant and when i went for my first pre-natal visit the doctor told me he doesnt expect any problems with pregnancy and labor with the band. But, there might be other moms on here that could offer some advice from their personnal experience. I'm gonna stay tuned to your post :)

No problems with my band! My port feels like its in a different spot but I've gained 30lbs so that's to be expected. My doctors didn't seem concerned about anything to do with the band during my pregnancy either.

My surgeon had told me that nothing like that affects the port. While you're pregnant, your abdomen stretches and your port will feel like its in a different spot; but its actually sewn into the muscle and is very hard to actually move out of place. As far as I know, labor shouldn't affect it at all.

I felt some occasional port site pain during pregnancy, but had no trouble during/after labor. Granted, I did get an epidural!

I had a normal delivery 2 months ago, no problems with lap band or port. I was so worried about my lap band slipping or popping off all together! While still pregnant, my port did get sore sometimes though.
It was a lot of fun to tell people that wanted to feel my belly that the port was a foot, they always believed it and thought it was so cool, then I let them in on the joke...such fun!
