Sequential Screening @13 weeks w/ ultrasound
I'm 13 weeks pregnant today and had my sequential screening done. We got to see our little bean on ultrasound and was thrilled to see him/her jumping around and see his/her little heartbeat! As far as the ultrasound goes, everything looks great and now we have to wait 2-3 days to see how the blood draw matches to the ultrasound to determine down syndrome, trisomy 18 and spina bifida. I feel confident all will be well! Having this done makes this pregnancy seem so real! I was worried about how the baby was doing as I just entered my 2nd trimester and haven't heard a heartbeat (it was 151.....boy or girl?) or seen the baby on ultrasound thus far! I'm thankful that there was only one baby (I'm already starting to show) and finally excited about this little bean growing inside of me!!!
Congrats on your pregnancy! Since I will be 41 when I deliver my first child I had the sequential screening. Those results came out great however, I just could not relax so I chose to have an amnio at 18 weeks. Thankfully the amnio was complication free and the results came back with 99.5 percent that all chromosones are perfect.
I completely understand your excitment and how things are really starting to feal "real". Wait until the movement starts....that really made it all feel real to me.
Congrats again!!

Thanks! It's really getting exciting now and I just found out one of my good friends is pregnant too.....which makes it even more exciting! According to the ultrasound, the skin on the back of the baby's neck looks normal.....so I think the blood work will be good too! If both look good, we wont have the amnio done!
