Never in my life.......

If someone would have told me a year or 2 ago that I would be trying to GAIN weight I would have thought they were crazy but here I am trying to gain weight and its not working.  In fact, I am still losing.  When I got pregnant in September I weighed 185ish and I am now 169.   So that is a 16 lbs lost!

All my ultrasounds shows the baby is bigger than average for my dates and my last measurement put me at 34 weeks instead of 31 so I guess everything is okay????????

I was pretty much holding my weight at 171ish for the past month or so and for the past 2 weeks  I have been eating LOTS and I have lost 2 lbs.  What gives?

Like I said never in my life did I expect to be trying to GAIN weight.

I just had my daughter on 3/10. I lost weight at first, and then gained a total of 6lbs. during my pregnancy. I am now down 19 lbs from the weight that I was when I found I was pregnant. Throughout my pregnancy the medical professionals were more concerned with her growth than my weight. Your baby will get what they need and leave you scrambling, lol. Try to eat well, and worry less about how much you are eating. I had some of the same concerns during pregnancy, I would eat and not gain. I am breastfeeding now, and steadily losing. It's kind of weird to be worried about losing for once in  our lives! Don't worry about losing weight, stay hydrated and  full of good nutrients and enjoy your pregnancy! Best of luck to you!

Hey MG.  I think if you still have excess weight when you get pg (which if memory serves you still did) then it is ok that you still lose weight during ur pregnancy as long as your baby is measuring well throughout your pregnancy.  And from what you just wrote... ur LO is doing just fine.  And weighing 169 lbs at 31 wks is totally fine!  You're being "NORMAL!"  Go figure! LOL.

I was 8 months out of rny when I got pregnant the first time and I weighted 170. I lost at first then by the time she was here I was 183. Within 4 weeks of having her I was 155. With this baby I was 147 when I started and now at almost 19 I weigh 152. I am freaking out about a 5 lbs weight gain. So there is no magical amount on how much your going to gain or lose. It all depends on how far you out of surgery and your body.

I was just logging on here to post something really similar!  I'm really concerned as well.  I started at 174, then dropped down to 168 almost overnight.  I'm back up to 170ish but worried I'm 18 weeks and haven't really gained anything.  Everyone keeps telling me the baby will get what it needs but it really freaks me out!

I know.  I just got back from my OB appt and she is not concerned with the weight loss so I guess I will not be.  I have had lots of ultrasounds and the baby is doing well.  Have they checked on your baby's growth yet?

Not yet - I go in on May 10th for my 'big' ultra sound and they'll check then I'm sure.  I'll be 21 weeks.
