Disposable Underpants or Pads?

Hi everyone,

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I am starting to think about what I need to pack for labor and delivery.  As I am sure everyone is different with the amount of bleeding that occurs, but I was wondering what is better and more comfortable and provides better coverage -  disposal underpants or just a heavy flow pad?

Any other tips on what to take to the hospital would be great!

As always, thanks for all your help and support.  I am so grateful to all of you.

I went to a military hospital and there pad were like pantiliners. I Hemmoraged so I bleed alot. So I had my hubby go buy the purple plus size always pads with wings. They were sooooo much better but I did use there big sexy pantys

I think a heavy flow pad would be good, thats what I'm planning to take. The hospital also provides them, but they do seema bit bulkier that store brands.
I am just taking black  undies that I've been wearing through pregnancy.  - and will probably just throw them away anyway. (I find the disposable undies uncomfy).
As for taking the other stuff, just an outfit to wear home and some old nightdresses that I don'tmind if they get ruined.

As for the baby I am taking a selection of binkies and an outfit for him to wear home.  - simple. I really overdid it with 1st baby so am taking a more relaxed approach this time round x

I guess everyone is different.  I suppose I'm cheap because I would perfer to use the pads and underware provided by the hospital.....they both worked just fine for me and by the time I got home, I was able to wear my normal pads and underware.  But if your particular about your pads and undies.....then bring them along and do what feels more comfortable for you!  Aside from what the other posters said, I would bring an outfit for the baby that you want his/her picture taken in (if your hospital provides this service).  How exciting to be thinking about the last preparations for the new baby!!!!  Best of luck with your labor and delivery!

The hospital provided me with undies for the first few days, then heavy pads the next few days then lighter flow pads by the time I got to go home. All I had to do was ask. The panties were awesome the first few days because it didn't matter how I sat or what I did - I had 'full coverage". Afterwards when I was up and about more the heavy pads were great. Not my brand but they worked just fine. I don't know that I would go buy a $20 box of undies but if they're cheap enough maybe. You'll probably use the heavy pads for your first period so even if you don't go through them in the hospital you will still have a need for them.
