I really need some more prayers. My surgeon may want me to hold off on induction because they found that I have abnormally high levels of Vitamin K in my blood. A normal range is between 80-1160 and as of last Monday it said mine was 4301...my surgeon has never even seen that before... the concern is this can cause heart problems, blood clots, and strokes if too high. The other problem is it's toxic for baby. SO its probably best for her to get out right now, but may be dangerous for me to be induced. They are hoping this is some kind of a mistake. Other issue is just because she has IUGR and blood flow issues she really shouldn't stay in there much longer. I am so frustrated and scared once again. Please pray. I am going to call Labor and Delivery and ask if they can pull my vitamin K tonight and figure what is best.
Would a c-section be safer?? This is so confusing!! Please keep us in your prayers!

I am so sorry to hear you have more to stress about now. You know you are on everyone's mind here and we are all wishing you and the baby the best. If I understand what you are saying induction is risky but they want her out now. So it does sound like a C-section is the way to go. Did your dr suggest that? Vit K is one of those fat soluble vitamins so you don't just pee it out.
::hugs:: I hope you get good news and everything turns out ok.

No, they haven't suggested C-section yet. I am curious if that would be safer or not?? I think this is still kind of un-known territory of sorts..so they are trying to figure out what is best. I mean, it seems like a waste to hold off because how are they going to lower my K anyway? Like you said, I can't just pee it out.. so confused! What do you think the benefits would be to having a c section instead? My OB is still planning on induction tomorrow, unless my surgeon calls her and says to hold off...

Thanks for caring! I am so tired of worrying!

I've been thinking about you and wondering how you are doing.  Sounds like this is a scary time.  Just remember to breathe and try to relax.  Have you tried meditating?  That can help.  In the meantime, many many prayers are going your way.  Please let me know if you need anything.. PM me and I'm happy to be an angel for you if you like.

I just tried to message you and it said your profile was set to private! Not really sure what to do in that case! lol!

You and the baby are in my thoughts and prayers.  I wouldn't think a c-section would be a safer option at this point...perhaps for the baby, but definitely not you.  It is a major surgery which already puts you at risk for blood clots, etc on top of your levels...I don't know.  I pray your new blood draw yields better results!

Hi

You and your baby are in my thoughts.

With having that high levels have they told you to stay away from certain foods that contain high amounts of Vitamin K? There is high amounts in green veggies. My MIL was on blood thiners and had to stay away from green veggies.

I would say a c-scetion wouldn't be the way they would want to go since you would have trouble clotting and put you at great risks.

I really hope it was a lab error.

Best wishes
