I would diffinitly get tested, maybe even blood test so incase you are you have one foot in the dr.s office already. I had the RNY got pregnant at 6 months out, my ob doctor and my surgen said if it was before 6 months they would advice me to have an abortion.  again I had the RNY, so maybe your better off. I am now 13 1/2 weeks in and doing great! BEST OF LUCK MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU!

Take a test, if it negative, you're very lucky. You need to use a barrier method or get an IUD right away - the birth control pill is not effective in people you have had either VSG or gastric bypass because the part of the stomach that creates the enzymes that are needed to absorb the pill are now stapled off from the stoma so you are not properly absorbing the pill. If the test is positive make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your options. There are risks to a pregnancy this early after surgery, including potential fetal abnormalities. Have you been taking a multi-vitamin or other supplements? This is of course only a risk but it is possible and you need to think about everything that means and get all the infomation you can and make the best choice for yourself. If you decide to continue the pregnancy I'm sure your doctors office will assist you in making a diet plan to keep you and the fetus as healthy as possible during the pregnancy. Good luck.
