Weigh In Appt and NT scan

Yesterday I had my mandatory weigh in appointment.  If you are on anti-nausea meds with my OB, they want to see you every 2 weeks to make sure you are not losing too much.  Well, I lost 4lbs from my 1st OB appointment last Monday.  The doctor asked if I was trying to watch my weight since I was post bypass.  I told him no, that I eat like I did before the pregnancy with the exception of more carbs.  I really don't indulge in anything high in calories.  So, now I'm at -2lbs for my 1st trimester.  He refilled my meds and told me to make sure I eat.  I eat something every hour due to my hypoglycemia so I don't know when I'm supposed to eat more.  He did agree not to give me another Glucola test...Halleluah!

Apparently there was a bit of a scare with the staff because they could not hear the baby's heartbeat on the dopplar.  I'm 12 weeks 5 days and thought between the skin and fat around my midsection and that I was only 12 weeks they wouldn't hear anything.  They immediately sent me in for another transvaginal ultrasound (i'm so over these...6 since I found I was pregnant) and found a heartbeat and a very overactive fetus.  They apologized for the scare ( I wasn't worried) and sent me on my way.

Today was my NT scan.  All went well.  This was my 1st transabdominal ultrasound.  The baby was asleep but not in the right position.  The perinatologist had to jiggle my uterus to wake him ( i think it's a boy) to move.  Then he wouldn't stop moving!  We were in there for 45 minutes until he was able to get the measurments for the baby for the blood work.  The perinatologist asked if the baby was always so active and I said yes.  My last 2 ultrasounds they didn't even try for pictures because he kept moving.  This doctor's office does the growth ultrasounds for my OB, so I was scheduled for my 20 week today.  8 weeks until we can try to guess the gender.

I'm off work today to get some much needed rest.  Back to the grind tomorrow.

Sorry for yet another transvaginal ultrasound!  I'm so glad I haven't needed one!  Just a FYI, with my last pregnancy at 13 weeks preggo, the ultrasound tech was pretty sure we were having a boy and said she couldn't wait until our next ultrasound to see if she was right and she was!  I'm wondering if that will happen this time around.....but I'm thinking NOT.....that is VERY early to detect.....but I guess my little guy wanted to be known and seen.....LOL.
