Vitamin D

Ladies, please keep up on your vitamin levels! Apparently, my litte one is sucking the D right out of me! I got my lab results today and am surprised at how they plummeted since 3 months ago.
I take 2 multis daily with D and also an extra 2000IU daily of D3. I thought that was A LOT but the joke was on me I guess.
The WLS staff doesn't seem concerned but I feel like a big failure :( And a bad mother.

Ahh your not a bad mother!  You are getting your labs done thats a good thing.  I get mine checked every month and you are right, levels really change when you are pregnant.  Guess what they say is true -

I've had an issue with my vitamin D since early on in this pregnancy as well...I have been on 4000 IU daily and they just did my labs yesterday and called and said my D is finally where it needs to be.  Vitamins are no joke for us WLS patients while pregnant for sure!  It's very good advice to keep up with them, thanks for reminding everyone Chelle :-)

I totally understand! Vitamin D is my major struggle as well.. It went down in the beginning because I was so sick and it's very hard for DSr's to keep it up anyway.. I am on a total of 55,000 IU of D3 daily..They are pulling mine on Thursday, hopefully it's better! Hope yours moves up to the normal range soon :)

I think my issue might be iron....I have my 1 yr appt on Friday and I have been feeling so tired and drained! I know that comes with pregnancy, but sometimes I wonder if its normal to be SO exhausted. I upped my iron pills just in case. I guess we shall see on Friday!

Thank you ladies. I feel horrible because I always preach about taking extra D3. I guess everyone's needs are diferent. it's also scary because i know TOO much of it can be toxic. Just another kick in my expanding behind to make sure I get labs drawn every couple months...

I am vitamin d deficient.  The nutrionist said it was from the pregnancy.  Now I hope it goes back up now that I have delivered!
