Thanks to everyone for replying to my other post about Tanner or Preston. Guess I left out a critical piece of information that Preston is my best friends son. One of the questions asked was how often the the would be together and the answer is not very as her son is 24 years old and I rarely see him.
Oh boy, I guess I need to keep thinking about a name. I have been trying for a baby for so many years, who would have thought choosing a name would be so difficult.
I suppose when I finally find one I will know that's it. Some have suggested having a few names in mind and when baby is born I would know what name fits. I have a hard time with that, but that may be the way to go.
In addition to Tanner and Preston, these are the names my husband and I have been discussing:
Jordan Alan
Hunter Alan
Logan Alan
I am greatly influenced by name meanings and while I like the sound of these names, their meanings are not great in my opinion.
How did you choose your baby's name?

How we chose thier names:
1. No one we know could share the name (first name only)
2. First and middle name had to flow together
3. Name could not be on any top baby name list
We didn't want to go with what is popular. We didn't want them to be in school and share thier name with five other kids in the class.

I am having the same issue. Just be sure you say the whole name aloud a few times. In general, short first name sounds better with a longer last name and vice versa. You also may want to avoid having too many of the same costanants.
Try those first names with the middle name Alex and see how different they sound....

My husband and I were blessed right away with our son whos now eight we went with biblical name and we are doing the same with our girls that are on their way.It took us six years to have them so names were very important to us.We have Grace (Gracie) and Bethany.
Remember a friend will always say no but half the time they really do get upset.
I like Logan and Tanner.

Beautiful names you have chosen for your girls. Thanks for the advice
As a prev poster said say the first middle and last name all together out loud and see which ones flows the best with your last name. (i.e. Gaylord Focker.... eeek lol -meet the parents- sorry i was jus****ching that last night lol)
I like Hunter and Preston, personally
My son's name is Malakai Andrew... Malakai is a biblical name but it is the Hawaiin spelling because I didnt want anyone mispronouncing Malachi calling him Ma-La-Chi. Andrew is my mother's maiden name. Ive always loved the name Malakai(Malachi) and my sons fathers middle name is Elijah so he always planned to name his son Malachi even b4 we met (Malachi is the son of Elijah)
Even if you pick "the perfect name" you will know the perfect name for him when you finally see him. I know some people who have chose a name then when the baby was born they went with a different name.

We were having a really hard time picking a name for our youngest. We had a few but none we both could agree on or sounded just right. We were at the mall one day and saw the cutest little blonde haired blue eyed little girl. Her mom said here Sadie let's try this shoe. That was it....she was Sadie from then on. Strange way to pick a name if you ask me LOL. Had that little girl been throwing a tantrum she'd be some other name I'm sure LOL.
My youngest is Nicholas Allen Sparks. I hate my last name "sparks" eeww! So, years ago when I saw the author "Nicholas Sparks" I said to my husband. If I ever have a son, I will name his Nicholas it just goes together. Allen is after my husbands father (Gary Allen) who dies when I was pregnant with my 3rd (a girl named Gianna-the Italian female version of John, her Great Grandfather & Uncle) Gianna's middle name is Helen after my grandmother (Ruth Helen) who passed away while I was pregnant with my 1st. The whole naming process is a big pain in the ass! LOL!
Good Luck. but I really like Logan!
