Is this normal??
I'm 32 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first baby. For the last several days, I have had a "heaviness" for lack of a better word to describe it, in my lower abdomen. It comes and goes during the day, and is worse when I stand....but doesn't go away completely with sitting/lying down. Just curious, is this normal or do I need to mention this to my dr on Wedndesday?

It's been so long since I was 32 weeks pregnant that it's hard to remember, especially those last few weeks. If I were you i'd call the office as soon as they open and tell them how you're feeling and just get a professional opinion.

My son turned head down at about 32 weeks and remained that way until delivery. His head resting in my pelvis was the most uncomfortable/painful feeling. I was always telling people that it felt like my crotch was going to drop out as a joke, but it really did feel that way! He was born at 42 weeks, so I had that feeling for a while. I say you're completely normal, but a call in couldn't hurt.
It is very normal! It is what they call quickening or what we refer to as the baby dropping. The baby is dropping down lower and getting ready for the journey! It is a process and does not mean that you are going to go into labor anytime soon. It always started for me around 32-33 weeks and I did not have the babies till 39 weeks. I ALWAYS referred to it as "feeling like the baby was going to fall out!" They always would laugh at me too! All the pain you are feeling when you stand is most likely the muscles down there, they are now starting to get stretched to the point of full capacity and when you stand, they have to work even harder.
I went through the same thing with my son. Just like the other gals said, it's just the baby dropping which is a good sign because chances are the baby is head down and not in a breach position :) Although it's uncofortable, at least you know that the baby's headed in the right direction, if you'll pardon the pun.
