So ummm....I don't mean to sound dumb, but are there any rules to having sex during pregnancy?

I have been starving my husband because I am so scared that something will happen to the baby! I know thats probably ridiculous thinking, but I just need to know if there was any special no-no's or whatever to sex during pregnancy...

Don't laugh at me!   :)

No questions are dumb here!! Trust me, I've asked some I thought were....

Sex is fine up until the minute you deliver as long as your doctor doesn't say diferently for some medical reason. And as long as you are comfortable. (That's what I was told anyway.)

Take care and congratulations!

The rules are:

Have great sex and lots of it for as long as you still feel up to it and your doctor doesn't tell you otherwsie lol

Yup, what the PP said.  Unless your doctor tells you differently, sex is just fine.  As you get further along, you may have to find different positions that work best for you but that should be it.  My fiance and I have had to modify stuff a bit but he still basically gets it when ever he wants but my sex drive hasn't diminished, it's actually increased.  That is another thing that may happen as you get further along, your sex drive may go completely away (some women's do) or it may stay the same or increase.  I'm lucky mine is still good or my fiance would be going crazy, lol.

So the way all of my previous OB's have explained it to me is this, if you are comfortable and not in pain, go for it. If they haven't put you on bedrest, or other precautions it is safe. (A certain type of sex is not advised during this time due to bacteria, other than that no restrictions) But, if you are going to be worried and stressed before, during and after, weigh the options. You should be physically and emotionally comfortable otherwise your own stress can put undo stress on baby :)

Hope that helps

With #1 I waited till 12 weeks and then I was sex crazy!! HAHA!! With this one we had sex from the day we found out we were pregnant. Unless you bleed or are uncomfortable I say have sex. You may cramp after that is normal.

Girl as long as you have enough energy to shave your legs, then go for it :)
P.S Some light spotting after sex can be normal because your cervix will be very sensitive the 1st trimester. So don't worry if that happens.

LOL @ CHelle!  Forget shaving your legs - he won't care anyway and after a while neither will you. I say get it while you can. Once that sweet baby comes sex (good sex that lasts more than 5 minutes anyway) will be a distant memory

My doctor told me as long as I wasn't spotting that sex was a go.

My husband is in school and under a lot of stress, so he isn't feeling starved at the moment.  I hope to be back in the mood by the time his summer vacation starts!  Cuz right now, i'm totally not thinking about sex!
