Strep Throat

Me again... sorry.

I woke up today with a really rough throat.  I do usually get strep at least once a school year and am thinking that this roughness may be a precursor to full blown strep throat.  Has anyone experienced strep in pregancy?  I plan on hitting the clinic tomorrow for a swab if I feel worse but would love to hear of anyone who has had strep while pregnant and what the treatment was.

 I had a pretty severe case of it a month or so ago (at about 5 months pregnant).  They just put me on regular antibiotics...amoxicillin I believe.  Needs to be treated and a lot of antibitoics are pretty safe in pregnancy.

I only had strep throat once and it wasn't while I was pregnant....but all I can say is owieeeee!  Hope you get some relief soon!

I had strep twice while pregnant and they had to put me on augmentin. The quick test came out positive right away and the Z-pack just doesn't work on me so I ended up with augmentin. I had no bad side effects..except mpt being able to swollow! LOL..fell better adn get some rest!

Thanks girls!  I am going to head to the clinic tomorrow and get it all checked out.  Strep sucks and the last thing I need is another reason to be stuck in bed!  I was just starting to crawl out of bed after the winter from hell!

Not Strep.  My throat was simply raw from a rough couple of nights of vomiting.  Oh the joys of pregnancy!!  Thanks again for all the advice!
