How often ar eyou checked by your doctor
Hello Ladies,
I'm just curious how often does you doctor check you (down there)? I'm a high risk pregnancy, I have High blood pressure and diabetes. I found out I was pregnant 7-8 months after VSG surgery. So far I dont gain weight at all, in fact I've lost 25 pounds since I found out I was pregnant. I started going to a high risk doctor back in february after my doctor said my blood pressure wouldn't go down. This new doctor has never checked me. I get sonograms every four weeks and see the doctor every two weeks but it's always just a basic check up.
Is this normal?????????????

I'm no doctor.....but the only reason I see a doctor checking you down there is in the very beginning when they do your pap and then more towards the end of your pregnancy to see if your dilated and such. I don't see any other reason why they would need to check down there. The extra sonograms make sense, as they are checking how the baby is doing!
Hey there,
They really don't need to check you for quite some time. I am a big proponent of keeping things out of my region (yes, all things) unless totally neccessary. Like EMERGENCY neccessary. lol. However small, there is a slight risk of infection or bacteria getting somewhere it doesn't need to be if you are checked. Towards the end, they may want to check to see if you are thinning and dialating, and then once you're in labor you will have a million people up in there checking things out. Don't worry ... its best to leave it alone.
