Very sore breasts - NOT preggo! What could this be?
I am not trying to conceive and I just got my period this morning.
My breasts have been very sore and heavy for over 2weeks - more like 3. So bad that they hurt to be pressed against a pillow. I've not experienced this length of time of soreness before - or this level of soreness.
I've gained a substantial amount of weight since June '10 - 40+pounds. I am thinking that it is definately something hormonal. With the gain, my breasts have gotten huge again. So I just don't know could be that is why. I am however concerned.
Any ideas? Is this normal?
Thanks.

Have you had your thyroid checked? It can cause weight gain if it's out of whack.
Edited: Forgot to add that a friend of mine had some issues w/her breasts (not sure what problems exactly) and it was her thyroid.

Hi Holly!
Man, I just had a bunch of blood tests. Thyroid functioning is "normal".
As far as the weight gain . . . here's what happened: June '10 Lap Band is completely unfilled, Dec '10 Lap Band is removed and I do not revise as I thought I would. Try as I might, the pounds came back like a gangbuster (I eat too much healthy food. No matter complex, carbs & I don't live in harmony AND I love bread more than anything). In the two weeks before what was to be my revision, I gained 10lbs because I figured I'd never get the chance to eat like before. Horrible!
Anyways I am going to revise to the sleeve. I am going through the process now. I did start to panick thinking I was preggo.
I saw the thing on perimenopausal and that would be dreadful because I do want to be pregnant. Funny too that my breasts are still sore now that I have my period. I will see my doc if I continue to be concerned.
Best,
Leila

I was trying to remember if you'd gone ahead and had the band removed...I know you'd mentioned it before. I hope your revision goes well and works better than the band.
You may be right that it's hormonal from the weight gain...it might be screwing with your body. Do talk to your dr if it keeps up, just to make sure all's well.
