HSG Next Week

After surgery to remove uterine polyps in January, and after much baby dancing, still nothing.

Tomorrow I start my first round of Clomid, then Wednesday I go for my HSG.  I get to take Xanax and Lortab prior, so hopefully it will be easy.

Anyone have any experience with HSG that can give me any advice?

I don't personally have experience with HSG, but my sister has had one...she didn't seem to have any notable problems with it.  She has PCOS and has had exploratory surgery and so many tests. She went on Clomid and got pregnant the first cycle.  She's now 13 weeks and doing well.

I had one done about 11 years ago. I will be honest with you I thought it was painful but also had nothing to relax me. I was extremely nervous and tense so that didn't help. The pain was from the insertion of the tube and only lasted about 5 seconds. It was worth it though and some women have been known to get pregnant after one.

hsg NO PROBLEM .. Are you using it at a trigger?  Clomid can make people coo coo and crazy ..
Why are you taking xanex and Lortab ... for the HSG?

I took some Ibuprofen before mine. It was uncomfortable, but not unbearable. It doesn't take very long. Minor price to pay if it gets you a BFP : )

good luck, i get one tomorrow. i was given a perscription for naproxen sodium to take an hour before and after as needed for cramping. i can give more details tomorrow i am nervous myself

Took Tylenol before and some after. Mild cramping. Some spotting, so make sure you either bring a pad or get one from them. Just remember why you are doing it, and try to stay as relaxed as you can. It will be over before you know it, and then your TTC adventure begins! Good luck.
