Advice needed!
OK so I need some advice, it's no secret to those around me just how much I want a baby but I am 2 and 1/2 weeks post op so of course we are going to wait. BUT, I am late, a week now. No tests have been taken yet, I'm scared to actually. My husband and I have been using protection but the night before surgery, we didn't. There's no way, right? It's just my body reacting to the anesthesia right? I'm nervous and scared now.
Our bodies do get messed up after a surgery. Hormones are going nuts. Alot of people get their monthly right away, or just get them all messed up in general. It was 3 weeks before mine came (I had PCOS previously) and they were the heaviest ones i've ever had. So just keep an eye out for symptoms etc, but honeslty chances are right now that your hormones are a mess like all of us went through. Good luck though :)
I got my period 2 days after surgery and I hadn't had one for several months prior. Surgery does tend to mess with a woman's cycle.
My DH and I had been TTC for about half a year before I had surgery. Of course it wasn't working because of my PCOS, but I was trying anyway. I found out that I won my appeal in September and immediately started using protection so that I wouldn't be pregnant before surgery. My surgeon did a blood pregnancy test the morning before my surgery. Its so important to not be pregnant that early post op! What were you thinking having unprotected sex right before surgery? Its totally possible you are pregnant because of the hormonal flux after surgery. You better take a test ASAP and find out! There are other women on here who got pregnant very early out. I sure wouldn't want to be one of them! Its scary stuff!
Being a VSG gal myself though, I would be somewhat comforted that there is less malabsorption than with some of the other surgeries. Let us know what you find out!
