Period after baby

I know this has probaly been asked multiple times, but when do you useualy get your period back after having a baby. I am 6 weeks out today.

With both i bleed for 2 weeks, stopped for a week then got my period for a week and then a normal monthly period after that.

ok cause i think I just had my period b/c I had stopped bleeding after 2 weeks and then just started again. i just hope they are normal like they were b4 i got pregnant.

Uhmmm I am having the opposite problem...Brynnleigh is 8 weeks and I haven't stopped at all!!  And it doesn't look like it is gonna stop anytime soon!!!

I bled for 4 weeks, even after the D&C at 2 weeks postpartum. Alexander is now 7 weeks old, and I have not yet started, but I am breastfeeding, and with the other 2 I never got my period until after I stopped breastfeeding.

totally off topic, as I am not due until June, - I also asked the same on another post that you'd commented on.


2 questions for you if you please,

after a c section, can you use tampons or do you have to use the pads?- I had a c section 6plus years ago and can remember using pads in the hospital for monitoring blood loss but lost all memory after that!! I am having a repeat section - I bought pads today at Target just in case.

Also -how long do they keep you in the hospital post- section if all goes well.(my son was born in UK,  so discharge time tend to be much quicker over there),

hi idk about the tapon question ive never realy used them. but i was in the hospital for 3 days after my section.

thank you so much  -  36hrs - 3 days sounds good. I just didn't want to be in for 5days/ a week.

Nothing vaginal for 6 weeks...so tampons are a negative. To be honest, my bleeding was minimal and was done after about week 2. Not sure what a typical stay is anymore, but I had my c at 7:27pm Sunday and by 9am Tuesday they released me (so 36hrs after my C). Landen was born with a fever and they did a blood culture, which took 48 hours to get the results, so we weren't actually discharged from the hospital together until around 9pm on Tuesday night. 

That's my experience in the C department LOL

it's great to hear from someone *****members it recently, lol. - What were your Drs "rules " for exercising post - C ?
