Sperm analysis... interpreting?
Hi Ladies,
I know some of you have experience with this. My DH just completed a semen analysis... we have double coverage insurance and wanted to check it while its free for us. We are going to have to start paying co-pays in a couple months. I'm being proactive! You probably think I'm crazy, but I totally admit it anyway :P
Anyway, the doctor is not available to read the results from the lab for another week because he is on vacation, but the office let me pick up the paper results today. I have been googling and so far I feel pretty good about the results but wanted to see what you guys thought?
Total Volume: 3.6 ML
Viscosity [H] Increased (Not sure what this means?)
Liquification COMPLETE
Motility 75%
Porgression 3+
Sperm Count 103 M/ML
Sperm morphology-Normal 47%
Sperm morphology-Abnormal 53%
Please help put my mind at ease if you know about this stuff!
Thanks a million!

Hey Nikki! Those labs look good. The avg male sperm count is btwn 40-60 Mil. DH is double that! And the motility being 75% is very good as well. IDK what the morphology means, but the 2 most important #'s are count and motility and both look pretty good.
Now... that being said... i see that you just had your revision in Oct. PLEASE wait at least 1 year from your revision to start TTC. Your body is still in shock and re-adjusting to it's new life and nutrient levels - not to mention the increased weight loss that you are probably experiencing. Please talk to your bari surgeon who performed your revision surgery about planning for when you will TTC. This is truly for your health and the health of your pregnancy and the baby.
