I need to vent for a sec...

a few months ago I was given a "promotion/raise" at my job...our entire office refigured and everyone moved around/changed, so it has been a big mess.  Well things are starting to settle down finally and I had a smooth transition into my new position, however now I am realizing that my "promotion" was just a joke...I'm assuming that my boss got wind that I was looking elsewhere for employment so she decided that slapping on a fancy title would encourage me to stay?
Anywho, so with my new position, I have taken on so much more responsibilities which I honestly don't mind because I enjoy being "busy" at work.  However, the other 2 women I work with (that arent my boss), treat me like their little "*****"...so basically my promotion just made me a glorified office ass/secretary/assistant...IM SICK OF IT...I wish they would treat someone else like ****its like they are above having to do any of the little things.  Its just easier for them to say "oh go see Teresa, she will be glad to assist you"....blalablalbaa lazzzyness is all I hear. grrr.  I dont know if its because of my age...I'm 25, they are all in their 50s, but they treat me like I'm worthlesssssss!

alright...end rant, that is all.

Thanks for listening!

rant away, sweetie!  well... it's good that they wanted to keep you and tried to make you happier.  think of it this way... more $ is always good and a promotion always looks good on a resume.  As far as being the "office *something that rhymes with witch*... UGH!  I hate that.  Any chance you could push back?  Maybe have a sit down w/ur mgr and ask for clearer guidlines on your new position?  Just because you're 25 and they are like 50 doesn't mean that you're their *fitch*.

Hope you have a better day today than you did yesterday.  hugs

I've had a similar problem at my workplace. I finally got sick of it and just had a talk with my manager about how *I* was feeling. Make sure you express how it *hurts* you and makes you feel *invaluable*. By using these words you make it sound less like the whiny office assistant and more like an undervalued employee who is frustrated. :)

Good luck, I hope everything works out!!

I have teammates at work that are not always on task too.  Like how many favorites can you tag in ebay while I am rolling along.  Grrr.

I am at the bottom of the preoverbial totem pole and the newest member of the team, so I have always kind of felt that I didn't have a voice.  Boy, was I wrong!  I started using it, and I think people don't really care for it.  But, you should never be afraid to make your opinion heard.  If they have a problem with it, it's their problem, not yours.  As long as you remain professional it's all good.
