Vitamins during pregnancy...

I would add more calcium and less D. The D is very important but is fat soluble and can be dangerous if the level is too high. You should get your vitamin labs drawn to see where they stand. Some people have very low D and need to take a lot, but like I said, too much can be dangerous. I take 1000iu of D but my levels have all been fine.
You should be on at least 1500mg of calcium citrate a day. Do not take it all at once, and at least 2 hours away from your centrum, or the iron in your multi will not absorb.
The B12 is important, keep that up :) I know this can all be intimidating.

Calcium Citrate should be at least 1500 mg per day taken in no more than 500 mg at a time (the body can only absorb 500 mg at a time.)  Iron and Calcium cannot be taken together as Chelle pointed out.  They require the same enzyme in the body to be absorbed and when calcium and iron are taken together (even in a multi-vitamin) they cancel each other out and is as if you hadn't taken any.

You do need iron. I take one regular prenatal at night, but a special bariatric multi in the morning....that way I can take additional calcium with it., Citrical petites are great, they are pretty small and 2= 500mlg.
If you are just looking to stay with the pharmacy selection, I would recommeed switching one of your multi's to centrum silver. It has no iron and has selenium with the regular centrum does not. That way you can take some calcium at the same time without worrying about absorbtion.

Now I'm wondering about the way I take my vitamins.....I take a complete multi vitamin, 65mg Iron, 500mcg sublingual B-12, 400iu D3 and 600mg Calcium with 800iu Vitamin D added one time a day in the morning.  I thought it was fine to take them at the same time, as my multi has all them already in it.  Now I'm thinking I should take a prenatal at night with the calcium (instead of in the morning with the others).  I should say that I'm over 7 years post-op RNY and haven't had my blood drawn in several years to check my levels.  When I did have my blood drawn in the past, everything looked good and I was only taking a mutli and B-12.  I'm thinking I need to contact my RNY doc and see if they will order blood work (hopefully they will, but it's been a long time since I seen them).  Opionions please!!!

Also should add, that with my last pregnancy (post-op) I continued to take my regular multi, B-12 and Iron and everything was fine.....baby and I both were healthy and did well......I don't remember if I took calcium or not and know I didn't take Vitamin D.....

The bariatric medical community has learned a lot more over the past 7 years since you have ur RNY.  Yes I would definitely contract your bari surgeon to get a current blood panel done and to consult with him/her about your vites intake especially now that your PG.  And btw... it's up to you to go back to your bari surgeon annually for blood work and checkup.  Put it on your calendar on your surgiversary.

Yes, I know its up to me to contact my bari surgeon.....I put it off due to moving out of the country for a year and then not having any insurance to pay for the lab work......I know not the smartest thing to do....but it's what I did and I can only go forward from here!  I've always taken a multi and B-12 (along with iron on and off and calcium) and have had no complications or problems and have stayed very healthy.....so another reason I let it go for so long......

idk if it makes a difference, but i got an rx dose this time. Its conceptOB. i think is the name. so far, all my labs and stuff are coming back OFF THE CHARTS! so its doing better than my reg. bariatric vits.

(im horrible at remembering them anyway.) something about these make me remember to take them...idk what.

I would talk to your personal nut. and see what your absorption is....thats what i did.
