c-sections
Becky,
I just had a c/sec and my discharge papers say --
Do not douche, use tampons or have sexual intercourse for four to eight weeks after delivery, or until you've had your first check up.
And I had my baby on a Friday (early afternoon) and was discharged on Monday. I guess I could have stayed another day if I needed to (and i wish i had), but I guess that's pretty typical, at least at the hospital I went to.

WLS patients actually do have a higher c-section rate than average, I saw in a study abstract. I'm not sure if this is because our OBs/MWs tend to watch us closer than the average patient, or if we have some extra issues even after we've lost weight.
I had a c-section with my daughter pre-WLS and one with my son post-WLS. I planned and attempted to VBAC, but my body seems to have some quirk that made both my children get malpositioned in the same exact way (little heads tipped to the side so they were each born with a bit of a horn on the side!) It had nothing to do with my WLS and probably had to do with a pelvic anomaly.

dumbfounded lol ok i had 2 children naturally then in 05 had ds by c-section i cant remember if i bled afterwards or not lol do u bleed after a section like u do when have vaginal birth? the section was horrible for me and im really dreading this one too i feel stupid for not remembering if i bled or not anyone know?
I bled six weeks after each c-section. It was pretty light after the first week or so.
If you don't want another c-section, is a VBAC an option (especially because you have a "proven pelvis")? At any rate, I've always heard that planned c-sections go better than unplanned, so try not to worry. I attempted a VBAC but it didn't work out. Still, my second c-sec was way better than my first. I talked with the OBs and anesthesia folks and they really listened, so the problems of the first didn't repeat.
