20 week scan

Is it standard for everyone to have a 20 week scan? I'm just curious.

Missing my angel "Kirstin Lola" 3.31.2011

Starting weight-412
Day of surgery-392
Current weight-277

It is called an anatomy scan and is done between 18-20 weeks. They check all the organs and skeletal development so yes it is an important scan.
