Need your opinion....bedrest.
On Friday, I had a very strange pain that extended to my hips and thighs. It wasn't normal cramping and my doctor wanted to see me. I wasn't spotting, but I had old blood spotting earlier in the week. The doctor immediately ordered me on bedrest until the end of the weekend. He said as long as there was no more spotting I could go back to work Monday.
This morning I woke up and there was more old blood and cramping. I really don't want to call in tomorrow for 2 reasons: 1) My current FMLA is approved for no incapacity, which means the time off work I taken will count againt me as unexcused. 2) I'm the only one in my department that does my job. If I don't do it, no one does it. I left 2 hours into my shift on Friday. Being off Monday would put me really behind schedule.
Do you think I should call in tomorrow? My husband said I should think about the baby, but I'm also thinking about my job. They can't fire me because I'm pregnant, but they can fire me for underperforming. My husband is in school and I"m the only one working full time.

I do work from home, however, the pain got worse as I sat. It radiated down my hips and thighs and made it hard to walk. The baby is attached at the very top of my uterus, which is where all the pain and discomfort is. I told my husband it feels like someone is pulling my uterus, like when you pull a string on a bell.

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. I am in a similar situation right now. My Dr. has me out until April and this may be extended and I am very concerned about my job. (I am not due until June)
After going back and forth with it, I decided I needed to do what was best for me and the baby. I've waited a long time for this and don't want to do anything that would put me or baby at risk, so I am following Dr.'s order.
I just have to keep reminding myself that EVERYTHING happens for a reason and it usually works out in the end. If for some reason I lose my job then perhaps there is a better one out there for me or I am meant to stay home with baby.......
Good luck!

So sorry you're having the cramping and old blood. I would definitely call the dr 1st thing Mon am. Your health and the health of your baby is very important. If the dr wants you to stay home then the leave of absence will get worked out. You may have to refile FMLA or whatever. Doesn't matter... if your dr wants you home and on bedrest then the LOA will get approved and paid.
