3D/4D Sonograms....tell me about your experience

Hi all....

As most of you know, I had my anatomy scan on Friday and we were very blessed to see that so far everything looks wonderful! The tech was only able to predict the gender at 90% so it was suggested that if I really want to know that I might consider at 3D/4D sono.

I know NOTHING about them. I did look up the one closest to where I live and it's enticing! What are you thoughts? Experiences? Can they really provide gender at 100%?

Happy Sunday ladies!

Hugs,
Mary

Hi Mary,
I had a 4D at 16 weeks on the day !!! and they were 100% accurate - I went in and paid just for a gender determination scan, you get to see the baby and they also give you a glossy pic, but I really just wanted to know. (I'm having another boy)

If there is any doubt or they can't tell, they tell you to come back (for free) another day.

We have one nearby and everyone raves about it. I would think it's much easier & accurate to tell the gender with a 4/D. But one catch is....bring your wallet. Even if you think you are spending a certain amount for a package, they will try to upsell you a bunch of prints and collages. I will hold my ground against that in a few weeks (hopefully) because I am not really a big fan of looking at 3d images. But I have seen the things they can create afterwards and they are cute and very tempting to buy. It also will be nice viewing a big screen on the wall, instead of twisting your neck around trying to look at a computer like in a regular dr. office. Have fun!

I had mine as a part of my routine ultrasound. They even printed it up. I had no problem knowing it was a boy. It gets harder though the bigger they get to get a good view.

We had our gender check at 18 weeks and they couldn't even guess as the baby was not cooperating, so we opted for the gender check at the 3d/4d place and it was only $75 and 2d. while we were there we asked to book the 3/4D and they said that the best time is after 28 weeks. We did go at 29 weeks..VERY expensive $160.00 and the only thing I did not like is they would find the picture on 2d..then it would switch on the DVD to 3/4D..and that is how the whole dvd went. When I did my video with my 1st daughter..they only did 2d and ot was much better because it was more like an uninterrupted movie to music.
