Anyone had a ventral or incisional hernia from their C section?
Apparently I have a ventral or incisional hernia as they're sometimes called. It hurts badly sometimes and other times not at all. Usually it doesn't hurt but once in a while I will do something and then it just hurts like everything, I can't even walk. I went to get a fill and my surgeon there is also the doctor *****pairs hernias so I asked him to look at it and he's the one who told me what it was. He also said that I didn't need to get it repaired until it really was causing pain. My issue is that I have no insurance and I don't seem myself getting any insurance until I get a "real" job which will be, in the very best scenario, January of 2012. I am scheduled to do student teaching from Sept-Dec and then I'll have my Master's completed. The hernia repair would cost me about $12,000 according to my surgeon and I really don't want to have to do this. Has anyone had this kind of hernia and if so, can I put it off for that long, or is it going to get bad and require me to get surgery right away? Thanks for any info you might have.
I have no experience with the hernia, but could you get on medicaid and get it fixed/??

I have a pretty sizable one- and it hurts when I do certain things; one example bend and turn- like putting the laundry in the dryer. I obviously had it since my c-section Nov 09. No plans on fixing it yet, I've had enough done lately. I was hoping I might score a repair and tuck. LOL Good luck- and perhaps you may qualify for charity care at a hospital (usually at teaching hospitals), the amount a family can earn is usually higher then MA guidelines. Good luck.
